Bid-Day Risk Audit

A second set of eyes on your number before it goes in. Send us the package, and within 24–48 hours you get back a ranked list of what's missing, what's carried twice and what doesn't tie out.

  • $1,000–$2,500 per package
  • Remote
  • 24–48 hour standard turnaround, rush available

Who it's for

  • Chief estimators and precon directors at commercial GCs who want a check on a big bid without pulling someone off the next one.
  • Trade subcontractors bidding a package where one missed scope item eats the margin.
  • Owners of smaller shops where the person building the estimate is also the only person checking it.

The problem

By bid day, everyone has been staring at the same workbook for a week. Sub numbers come in late, the last addendum moved half the drawing set, and someone pasted over a formula at midnight. The mistakes that hurt aren't the hard calls. They're the ones nobody had time to look for: a scope item no one carried, an exclusion nobody assigned, a quantity that drifted away from the takeoff, a line that's in the number twice.

Nobody on your team is careless. There just aren't enough hours to read everything twice.

What's included

We run your package through automated checks, and then an estimator reviews every flag before it reaches you. We look for:

  • Scope gaps. Items in the drawings, specs or bid form that aren't carried anywhere in the estimate.
  • Takeoff-vs-estimate variances. Quantities in the estimate that don't match the takeoff they came from.
  • Formula errors. Broken links, hard-coded overrides, ranges that stop short and totals that don't foot.
  • Unassigned exclusions. Scope a sub excluded that hasn't been picked up by another sub or self-performed.
  • Double-carried scope. The same work priced in two places, usually by two different subs.

What you get

  • A 1-page findings memo (PDF). The issues that matter, ranked by what they'd cost you, written so you can act on it in the last hours before the bid.
  • A line-by-line Excel audit. Every flag, where it lives in your estimate, what we found and what we'd check. You can sort it, filter it and hand pieces of it to your team.

Turnaround

Standard turnaround is 24–48 hours from when we have a complete package. Rush is available when bid day is closer than that. Tell us your deadline up front and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it.

Pricing

$1,000–$2,500 per package. We quote a fixed price before we start. Where it lands in the range depends on:

  • Size of the package. A single trade package costs less than a full GC estimate with dozens of sub numbers behind it.
  • What you send. Native Excel estimates and takeoffs go faster than scanned PDFs.
  • Number of addenda and revisions we have to track through.
  • Rush. Faster-than-standard turnaround is quoted up front, based on your deadline, before we start.

FAQs

What do you need from us?

Your estimate workbook, the takeoff behind it, the bid form and any sub proposals you're carrying. Drawings and specs help us check for scope gaps. If you're not sure, send what you have and we'll tell you what's missing.

Will you change our number?

No. We flag issues and explain them. The estimator still makes every call.

Do you only work with certain estimating software?

No. Most of what we review comes in as Excel or PDF exports, and every major estimating platform produces both. If your setup is unusual, ask.

Is our bid safe with you?

Files arrive over an encrypted connection and are processed on our own secured hardware. Raw files never touch public AI. Read How We Handle Your Data for the details.

The estimator still makes every call. We just make sure nothing goes unread.
